For credit unions
The AI money assistant your members text. Under your credit union's name.
Flip is a money manager people talk to in iMessage: it reads their accounts, answers money questions, catches bills, and moves cash with a tap to approve. Credit unions license it to give members a conversational banking assistant without building one, and to keep deposits, engagement, and the relationship at home.

What members get
A money manager they text, that knows their credit union accounts.
Flip is the AI money manager thousands of people already text in iMessage. Licensed to a credit union, the same assistant runs under your brand, answers from your members' accounts, and routes every move back through your products.
Answers about their own money
"What did I spend on groceries?" "Can I afford this?" Members text a question and get an answer built from their real accounts, in seconds.
Bills and subscriptions handled
Flip spots a bill that changed, a free trial about to bill, or a subscription nobody uses, and offers to cancel or remind before money leaves.
Money moved only with a yes
Transfers, payments, and savings moves are drafted by Flip and approved by the member with a passkey. Nothing happens without an explicit yes.
Savings that go to you, not a fintech
Idle cash gets surfaced as a move into your share and certificate products instead of a neobank's savings account, with the credit union named in the text.
Proactive, not another inbox
Flip texts first when it matters: a paycheck landed, rent is due before the next deposit, a card has a credit sitting unused. Quiet otherwise.
Works in the thread they already use
iMessage on iPhone, SMS everywhere else. No new app to download, no new password to forget, no notification permission to beg for.
Why credit unions
Members under 40 already text their money questions. Just not to you.
Meet younger members where they are
The median credit union member is in their fifties. Members in their twenties and thirties bank by text and by app notification, and they will adopt an assistant that lives in Messages far faster than a new app.
Keep deposits from walking to fintechs
When a member has idle cash, a neobank's app tells them to move it there. Flip tells them to move it into your share savings or certificate, by name, and drafts the transfer.
Fewer routine contact-center calls
Balance questions, 'did my deposit land', 'why is this bill higher', and 'cancel this subscription' are the bulk of inbound volume. Flip handles them in the thread, and hands off to your team when it should.
A digital win you can ship this quarter
No core conversion, no mobile app release cycle. Flip connects to account data you already expose and launches on a phone number. Pilots go live in weeks, not budget years.
Built on consent, like a credit union
Flip never moves money on its own. It asks, the member approves with a passkey, and the approval is logged. That is the posture your board and your examiners expect.
Proof before commitment
Start with a pilot cohort and weekly numbers: members who texted, questions answered, bills caught, dollars moved into your products. Decide on the data.
How it fits
Your core, your brand, your rules.
Flip sits beside your online banking, not inside it. Launch takes an account data feed, a phone number or short code, and a short configuration pass on what Flip may do for your members. Most pilots go live within a few weeks of signing.
Account data
Read-only account access through Plaid or your existing aggregator, or a direct feed from your core. Flip never holds your members' credentials.
Your brand on the thread
White-label under your name and short code, or co-branded "Powered by Flip". Either way the credit union owns the member relationship.
Guardrails you set
Which actions are allowed, dollar thresholds, hand-off rules to your contact center, and the tone of voice are configured per institution.
Compliance built around consent
Every action is logged with the approval that authorized it. We work through your vendor due diligence questionnaire and share our security documentation on request.

Licensing
Three ways to bring Flip to your members.
Pilot
A 90-day pilot with a cohort of members you choose. Fixed fee, weekly reporting on engagement and money moved, a go or no-go at the end.
Per active member
Licensed per member who texts Flip each month, with a floor that scales down for smaller credit unions. Inactive members cost nothing.
Co-branded revenue share
Flip under both brands, with a share of subscription revenue to the credit union and no license fee. Good when you want to test demand before committing budget.
Pricing depends on member count and which actions you enable. Ask on the call and we will send a one-page proposal the same day.
Questions
What heads of digital ask us first.
- Do our members need to download an app?
- No. Flip runs in iMessage on iPhone and over SMS on everything else. Members text a number you publish and start a conversation. Enrollment and account linking happen in a secure web step the first time.
- How does Flip connect to our core?
- Through read-only account data: Plaid or your existing aggregator at launch, or a direct feed from your core (Symitar, Corelation KeyStone, Fiserv DNA, and others) once the pilot proves out. Flip never stores member credentials.
- Can Flip move money?
- Only when a member approves a specific move. Flip drafts a transfer or payment, the member confirms with a passkey, and the action and approval are logged. You choose which actions are enabled and set dollar limits.
- Is it white-label?
- Yes. Flip can run entirely under your brand and phone number, or co-branded as 'powered by Flip'. The member relationship, the data, and the thread belong to the credit union either way.
- What about compliance and vendor due diligence?
- We complete your vendor due diligence questionnaire and share our security documentation under NDA. Bank connections are handled by Plaid, which is SOC 2 Type II audited and ISO 27001 certified. Every member action is consent-logged.
- What does it cost?
- A fixed-fee pilot, then per active member per month with a floor that scales down for smaller credit unions, or a co-branded revenue share with no license fee. We send a one-page proposal after the first call.

conversational banking for credit unions: what it is, what members actually use, and how to evaluate it
Most 'conversational banking' demos are a chatbot bolted onto a login page. Members do not want to log in to ask a question. Here is what the category looks like when it works, and how a credit union should evaluate it.

an AI financial assistant for credit union members: what it should do, and what it should never do

how credit unions compete with neobanks in 2026 (without a $50M app budget)
Neobanks did not win on rates or trust. They won on zero friction and on noticing things first. Both are copyable, and a credit union can copy them faster than it can rebuild its app.

Flip vs MX for credit unions: data platform inside the app, or an assistant members text
MX is a data and PFM platform that lives inside your digital banking. Flip is an AI assistant that lives in your members' Messages app. They solve different problems, and a lot of credit unions will want both. Here is how to tell which problem you have.

white-label personal finance for credit unions: PFM widgets, standalone apps, and the texting option
Every credit union has bought personal finance tools before, usually a budgeting widget behind the login that a small fraction of members ever open. Here is why that happened and what the white-label options look like now.
